Once upon a time…back in 2000, a mother and two daughters took a blind leap of faith and left the safety of corporate America to pursue a dream.
Combining Joyce’s talents as a painter, Liz’s eye for design and all things beautiful, and Chrissy’s innate marketing skills, they opened their first location on Hillsborough Street. The Eclectic Garden was born! They idntroduced local art, good used furniture and custom painting services to Raleigh accompanied by four little boys who were not of school age yet! It was always a lively atmosphere, and the beginning of a loyal customer base was.
Because Joyce had talents and visions for the growth of the business, she purchased a property on Wake Forest Road in 2004 and moved the business to a permanent location. While it was challenging to relocate to another part of Raleigh without the aid of social media (and NO advertising budget) many of our regulars kept us going while we grew to new heights and broadened our customer base to include designers and other dealers throughout the state.
Twelve years later, Joyce decided to sell the property and ease into retirement. Although it was not an easy decision for her, Liz and Chrissy knew the adventure was not over! After a brief hiatus in the summer of 2016, they are about to reopen Eclectic FAD (Furniture and Design.) Liz will be expanding her interior design clientele and continuing to provide an ever changing inventory of good used and painted furniture as well as home décor items and local art. Most importantly, our custom painting services will always be available!
Regardless of your style, Liz can help you bring your unique personality to the atmosphere of your home while increasing the functionality!
